It is absolutely beautiful to see so many different pollinators congregating in our wild forest garden. This place must be an Oasis in this enormous mono-culture human created environment. I think it is time to call it a Bee Sanctuary;
Anthidium florentinum is a gorgeous Mason Bee which I have never seen before |
Mason Bee and a Syrphid Fly Various butterflies can be seen on Thistles |
Various Bummblebees |
Ebilobium hirsutum Giant Willowherb
It could be on the last phote that it is Apotekerkattost / Malva Sylvestris, but the photo

Annette this plant is 2 meters tall and has lanceolate leaves. Looks very much like the evening primrose before it starts flowering
DeleteHi Annette. The plant above is the Giant Willowherb Epilobium hirsutum
DeleteWhat a beautiful butterfly, complete with eyespots to scare off predators. I salute your efforts in creating a pollinator habitat.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) so many pollinators are endangered and are disappearing as we speak. Wild habitats have never been needed more than today! Yet they too disappear, being pushed away with mono-crop agriculture and pesticides. I wonder if our politicians are all psychopaths!
